Seeing Christmas Merchandise Already for Sale Reminds Me of the Hope We Have at Christmas in This Crazy World 9/21/17 - A Whittle Bit of Commentary

A Whittle Bit of Commentary with Chad Whittle

Below is a rush transcript (may contain errors):

This past weekend I was in the local mall and I’m not gonna name the store, because well, I don’t wanna give them free advertisement, but this store already had Christmas stuff out for sale. They had a giant size inflatable Santa Claus, Christmas trees, the whole deal.

In the past I would be annoyed when I would see Christmas items on sale when it’s still hot outside and not even close to Halloween yet, much less Christmas, but I’ve changed. Now I say, the sooner the better!

The world and our culture is in such a mess I welcome the sights and sounds and merchandise of a holiday that is all about hope, joy and peace. Seeing that stuff puts me in a better mood and reminds me of the real hope we have and that is the magic and meaning of Christmas. It’s all about a baby in a manger that gives us all hope, no matter what.
