I Bet More Americans Can Name the Kardashians Than the Three Branches of Government 9/14/17 - A Whittle Bit of Commentary

A Whittle Bit of Commentary with Chad Whittle

Below is a rush transcript (may contain errors):

People wonder why our politics are so messed up and why we have such a mess in this country. Well, a new survey offers some insight into why it’s so bad and I will admit that the results made me a Whittle depressed, but not really surprised.

The Annenberg Public Policy Center released its annual Constitution Day Civics survey and it showed only 26 percent of the respondents could name all three branches of government. I would be that more Americans can name all the Kardashians than the executive, judicial and legislative branches of government.

Just 37 percent said they either couldn’t name any or didn’t know a right guaranteed in the first amendment, so yes, the future is oh, so bright for the country.

If you don't know your freedoms, you could lose your freedoms.
