Facebook Can't Replace or Duplicate Everything in Life and That's a Good Thing 10/9/17 - A Whittle Bit of Commentary

A Whittle Bit of Commentary with Chad Whittle

Below is a rush transcript (may contain errors):

I got lucky Friday afternoon because right before I logged off of Facebook, I saw that one of my favorite bands planned to live stream a music festival performance in about 30 minutes, so that made me decide to stick around and not leave.

While watching the concert though, it made me realize that watching it online is just not near as fun as being at a concert and that there are just some things the internet and social media can never replace and attending a concert is one of those experiences.

While you can interact with others while watching by leaving comments, and turn the volume up, it’s just not the same. There is nothing like hearing the music blast from the speakers, the lights, and jumping up and down and screaming in your friend’s ear during a song at the concert. It’s just not as exciting or as fun watching online, and it served as a good reminder that even as dependent as we are on the web now, and even with a lot of our lives online, it’s good to be reminded that there are somethings in life that the internet can never replace or duplicate.
